The Civic Education Center empowers authentic youth voice through research and civic action to serve our community.
Our Purpose
The Civic Education Center is preparing our next generation to meet the challenges they will face in the 21st century with a deep understanding and commitment to the rights and responsibilities of US citizenship. Working in partnership with schools and teachers, Civic Education Center guides and empowers K-12 students in addressing authentic real-world challenges impacting our community through hands-on civic engagement projects, civic values, and democratic skills. This Civic Based Learning (CBL) approach applies knowledge, skills, action and refection inspiring students to become active participants in their schools and community while learning competencies that can be applied to life. The resulting impact of civic engagement is elevating community dialogue about expanding civic education for K-12 students in our public school system. As we unite in our commitment to expand civic intelligence in classroom and at home, students are gaining grater success in college, career, and citizenship thereby strengthening the very foundation and future of our community, state and world.
